Driven by a lifelong fascination for Ancient Rome, John Waite now dedicates much of his time to passing on his knowledge and experience of this vast but popular subject through various media.

For over 15 years, John has been involved in historical re-enactments, focusing on the Roman army of the 1st Century AD. Having initially worked with some of the largest display groups in the UK, he then diversified by presenting individual displays to museums, societies and private groups. He then expanded his repertoire further by delivering carefully structured presentations to both primary and secondary schools and to college and community groups. These presentations were further enhanced by John's ability to also comprehensively cover many aspects of Roman domestic life.

John has also been involved, both as an extra and technical advisor, in a number of documentary programs for several production companies. He has also carried out research projects, including staging an authentic Roman wedding ceremony to his wife, Helen.

Since 2003, John has also had 1 fiction and 2 non- fiction books published which focus on early Roman Britain. A further fiction title is due to be published as an E book shortly.

With so much practical knowledge and experience at his disposal, you can be confident that John can deliver a broad range of services to anyone involved in presenting their own Roman project – whatever form that may take.
